BBC Bitesize visited OBA on Thursday 6th February, giving our students an insight into a range of careers in the creative industry. Host Nick Bright was joined by Olivia Downing, a copywriter who creates adverts for big brands including a national chain of theme parks, photographer and Blogger Onyi Moss who has worked with a number of large fashion brands and Head of Creative at Clicky Media, Rhian Cox, who has designed websites for brands including Raleigh.
Following a brief interview with each of the panellists, students had an opportunity to quiz them with questions covering topics such as the specifics of their role, good and bad things about the creative industry and how they recover from a bad day! Students also found out how the BBC Bitesize website can help them to learn and revise, with new interactive quizzes which use each individual’s strengths and areas for improvement to tailor the questions and personalise the learning for each student. The new “careers” section on BBC Bitesize contains a vast careers library as well as insights into different industries and tips and advice for applying for jobs.
