About

Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy

Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy is a newly formed Academy in Runcorn, Cheshire. As the first Academy in Runcorn, Bolingbroke is a ground-breaking endeavour, backed by our sponsors the Ormiston Trust and the University of Chester.

Officially opened on the 3rd September 2010, Bolingbroke Academy has since enjoyed a growing reputation as an improving school with high standards and expectations.

The Academy has achieved groundbreaking results in its first year, with 99% of all Yr 11 students achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C. This has put the Academy at the very top of the league table for Runcorn. The new sixth form has also achieved staggering results in its first year with the pass rate at 92%, well above the national average.

The second year of the Academy was even more impressive: 100% of students in Yr 11 gained 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C and the sixth form achieved 100% pass rates in every subject.
