Students and staff from Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy and Ormiston Chadwick Academy recently enjoyed a week ‘on the piste’ in the French Alps.
Flying out from Manchester, the group of forty-two students varied in age from 11- 18. They also went on the trip with a range of different skiing abilities, with some students skiing for the first time, whilst others were highly skilled experts, having been on the annual ski trip in previous years.
Mr Fenner, Head of Year 13 in OBA, who has organised this trip for several years said:
“Regardless of their starting point, all students made excellent progress in each of their groups and the ski instructors were very impressed with how hard they all tried to improve their technique. The students enjoyed every aspect of the trip and threw themselves whole-heartedly into both the daytime skiing and the evening après-ski activities. We organised lots of activities for them once they had come off the slopes, including swimming in an outdoor heated pool, having fun on an elevated climbing frame, ‘bum-boarding’ and a disco. Both the students and the staff from both schools thoroughly enjoyed the trip and everyone is already looking forward to the 2017 joint trip between the two academies.”
