In November a group of our year 10 students participated in a road safety workshop organised by Halton Borough Council, Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services.
Students witnessed first hand a real life drama unfolding in front of them after a road traffic accident involving a collision between a car and a motorbike. They observed how the police and fire and rescue services respond to this type of accident which sadly, in this example, had fatal consequences.
Students studying drama at the academy assisted by acting out roles such as driver, rider, family and members of the public with such conviction that members of the Fire Service remarked how it was difficult to identify the difference between this simulation and the real thing.
This hard hitting roadshow will tour all secondary schools in Halton Borough over the coming months and will help to raise awareness of the risks that young people take when riding motorbikes / trials bikes irresponsibly.
