OBA celebrates excellent GCSE results for third year running

Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy in Runcorn is yet again celebrating GCSE results which are well above last year’s National Average. For the third year running, more than 60% of its students have achieved five grades A*-C, including English and Maths, continuing the success of recent years.

In English, smashing all previous OBA records, an impressive 83% of students achieved grades A*-C whilst almost 70% achieved the same grades in Maths - both of these subjects being Specialisms in the Academy. Science results also shone through, as 75% of students secured these top grades.

Many subjects across the school celebrated 100% of their students achieving A*-C, including Art Business, Construction, PE and Dance, with 46% of Dance students also gaining the very highest A* and A grades.

Principal, Mark Wyss, said:
"Throughout the year, we have monitored the progress of all our students and offered each of them the individual support required to help them achieve their true potential. I am now very proud to report that all their hard work has paid off, and again this year we have seen a rise in the average points achieved per student. These results are a testament to the tremendous hard work of every student, the support of their parents or carers and the immense efforts of our staff. It is great to see so many huge smiles on so many faces as we all celebrate together."
