Students Matthew Horton, Sam Kendrick, Lewis Roberts and Zoe Longworth are all celebrating 9A*/A grades, Jonathan Shaw achieved 8A*/A grades and Holly Godden, Joe Bellis and Josh Hewitt followed closely behind with 7A*/A grades.

Executive Principal, John Rigby, said: “These excellent results demonstrate the hard work of our students, their dedication to their studies and the total commitment of the teaching staff at OBA. We have recently been acknowledged in the media as being one of the top five schools across the region for the outstanding quality of our teaching, achieving a five star commendation.”

Smashing all previous EBacc records, with an 8% increase on last year’s figures, OBA’s French results were, yet again, impressive. With 100% A*-C pass rate, 47% of students achieved grades A or A* and Holly Godden, was thrilled when she discovered that she had scored the maximum 300 marks. Year 9 student, William Vichos, also excelled with a stunning grade A* in Greek, the first student to do so at OBA.

Assistant Principal and Head of Maths, Ben Barry, was also delighted with the excellent achievements of two students, who went the extra mile in Maths and said:
“Josh Hewitt and Matthew Oakes are such outstanding mathematicians that they weren’t satisfied with simply achieving A* when they were in Year 10. This year they went on to achieve Distinctions in Additional Maths as well as FSMQ Level 3 in both Statistics and Algebra. This is amazing for students so young and they are now looking forward to the challenges of Maths and Further Maths at A Level.”

Professor Toby Salt, Chief Executive Officer of Ormiston Academies Trust said: “Congratulations to staff and students at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy on another fantastic set of results, particularly in a year which has seen so many changes to the exam system. Students have been very well-supported by the academy to gain the qualifications they need to progress.”
