Young Leaders Award
The Young Leaders Award is a unique active citizenship programme which empowers young people to make a difference in their local community whilst growing in key leadership skills at the same time. Their motto ‘be the change you want to see’ inspires the students to be a model example of the community they wish to see both inside and outside of school.
The Young Leaders Award qualification is organised by the Archbishop of York Youth Trust and has been nationally recognised as an accolade to celebrate the positive leadership and citizenship skills learned over the course of a year.
This year we have launched Young Leaders Award with 30 students from year 8 to complete the Key Stage Three Award. Students will have to complete a course looking at faith, hope and action where they learn about great leaders and leadership qualities as well as planning three volunteering challenges. These challenges include an individual charity fundraiser, a school community volunteering challenge and a local community programme.
At the end of the course, students will be invited to a graduation and will be presented with their award.
