Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy

A very warm welcome to all future Year 7 students at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy!

Here at OBA we understand that your move to secondary school is a big step. Right now, you are probably feeling a mixture of both nerves and excitement about starting at the Academy, but please be reassured that you are not the only one! Every other person in your year group will be feeling exactly the same way – trust us!

The best advice we can give you is to get involved in Academy life right away! The more time you spend at OBA, the more confident you will feel when it’s time to make the move.
To help you do this, we have created a whole load of exciting reasons for you to visit the Academy and get to know some teachers before you even start here.

We know that you start to think about secondary school long before you are in Year Six, so lots of the activities below are open to students in Year Four and Five as well!

Saturday Academy

The Academy is also open on a Saturday morning for a whole range of fun activities… tap and ballet lessons, music tuition, drama, sports and the Around-the-World project are all on offer!
See the Saturday Academy page here for more information.

Summer School

All students starting OBA in September are invited to take part in an exciting summer school programme. For a full week in August, students have the opportunity to boost and stretch their maths and literacy levels as well taking part in a wide range of fun recreational activities.

Last year’s activities included Multi-Sports sessions, ICT workshops, Textiles lessons, Dance and Drama classes and a trip to LA Bowl in Warrington. Almost 140 of our new year 7 students took part in the week long programme with over 100 children attending every day!

Not only is summer school a great way to get to know new people and make new friends, it also gives children the chance to get to know some teachers and familiarise themselves with the school building.

Keep your eyes peeled for this year’s dates and details.
