Around The World
Around The World On a Saturday is an innovative and unique project that takes place at OBA on a Saturday Morning and it is exclusively for Year Six students!
Each week between 9.30am and 1.00pm children from our partner primary schools come together to take part in a range of exciting multi-cultural activities.
During Italy week pupils made tasty pizza’s with Miss Ray and experienced a variety of traditional Italian foods, during France week, pupils had an interactive French lesson and then ordered their breakfast from a ‘French Café’ in the school canteen. Belgium week saw pupils participating in a chocolate workshop and making their own delicious chocolate lollypops. On Australia week they visited the beach where they spent the morning playing traditional aussie sports and for Wales they had a totally ZOONIQUE experience with a trip to the Welsh Mountain Zoo!
The project is funded by OBA and offers all the pupils involved a great opportunity to try new things, learn new skills, make new friends, build confidence…. and above all have FUN!
In addition to the above, for any pupils thinking of coming to the Academy the following year it is a great way to get to know the school, meet teachers and make the transition to high school a lot smoother!
