OBA’s Partnership Primary Learning Programme
We are lucky at OBA to work with a range of fantastic partner primary schools. Our staff really enjoy teaching primary school students and we have lots of positive feedback to say that the feeling is mutual!
The Academy is fortunate to have facilities that many primaries lack, such as Food and Design Technology classrooms, a Learning Plaza with wireless technology (for Apple Macs, iPads, Netbooks etc) and specially equipped science labs. Therefore each term we invite students in Years 3 – 6 from a range of our feeder primary schools to visit OBA for lessons in many different subjects. The schools change each term to ensure everyone gets a fair share! Members of OBA staff also go out to deliver lessons in our partner primary schools, which is a great way for The Academy to share best practice and get to know students who may be joining OBA in years to come!
“All lessons were well planned, appropriately targeted and inclusive. Following discussion the lessons were also matched to our Year 5 theme ‘space’ for the dance sessions. A range of skills were taught over the weeks enabling the students to experience handball, netball and rounders.
The staff involved benefited too… It was a CPD opportunity to observe specialist teachers delivering their subjects. We got several ideas for the future.”

“The athletics lessons were extremely well planned, run and appropriate for our children. The pupils found them highly enjoyable… I picked up a lot of ideas and tips that I could use in lessons back at school.”
