Specialist Status

The academy enjoys specialist status in both English and Applied Learning. For academy students this will mean a greater focus on literacy skills. We’ve even designed a new Year 7 curriculum, which will ensure that every new student receives enhanced literacy support. Students will also benefit from an online accelerated reader programme.

Our Applied Learning specialism means that we promise to provide our students with a broad range of options for vocational learning. Students will be able to apply their learning to real life environments. Our students benefit from an on-site state-of-the-art training hair salon, where they can study for hairdressing qualifications.

Students can also study for motor vehicle courses in our garage environment, which is kitted out with £60k of automotive equipment.
