Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy, Runcorn, is delighted with the outstanding achievements of its Sixth Form students in both A Level and AS Level for the fifth year running. With a 99% pass rate across the board and 100% pass rate in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Geography, French, Mathematics, English Literature as well as a range of A*s in Mathematics, English Language and Sociology, OBA has a lot to celebrate.
Over fifty students have again secured places at university this year to study a wide range of subjects. This year, OBA students will be going off to different universities up and down the country, following courses like English Language, English Literature, French and History, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, IT, Psychology, Law, Performing Arts, Health and Nutrition, to name just a few. Ellis Judge who is celebrating A* A* A* A* A B will be heading off to the University of Manchester to study Mathematics and Computer Science, whilst Elliott Collins who achieved A* A* A B is delighted to be going to The University of York to continue with French and History and Sean Boyd, who secured A B B, will be studying Mechanical Engineering at The University of Manchester. Meanwhile Chloe Haggart was ecstatic with her A* A* A* C, as was Adam McKune with his A* A* A C and Sarah Jane Thompson-Mayers was also thrilled to achieve A* A* A*s A grades. Also going off to the university of their choice with their A* A* A*s are Jessica Lea, Leah Higham and Shannon Rowlands.
Vice Principal and Head of Sixth Form, Joan Mooney, said: "Our A Level students have done brilliantly yet again this year. Each year we see them going to pursue their dreams and we wish them all the success that they deserve at university or in employment. Their hard work has really paid off and I would like to thank their parents or carers and all our staff for everything they have done to help them move on to the next successful chapter in their lives."
AS Level students at OBA also did brilliantly again this summer, setting them well on the road to even more success at A Level next year.
Executive Principal, John Rigby, was delighted with all the students' successes and said: "It has been a pleasure to celebrate our students' impressive results with them today. The opportunities that lie ahead for them are very exciting and I wish them every happiness. At OBA we really believe that what we offer can help to change the life chances of students."
