OBA’s Double Maths Triumph

Eight incredible Year Ten students from Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy in Runcorn recently competed in the North West Maths Feast. This competition is organised by the Further Maths Support Programme in conjunction with Liverpool University.

This year the prestigious competition attracted the most able Year 10 mathematicians from over twenty schools in the North West. The OBA students took part in a gruelling two and a half hour competition which tested their problem-solving abilities and many other challenging, mathematical skills, as they worked in 2 teams of four each with a supervising teacher from a different school.

OBA students won first prize in two out of the six rounds. Coincidentally, in both of these rounds they came joint first, with… no other than the opposing team from OBA!
