OBA has smashed all previous records this year with an outstanding 20% increase in its GCSE results.
Celebrating its best results ever, 68% of students achieved 5A*-C including English and Maths with 99% achieving five or more A*-C , the best GCSE results in Runcorn. The academy is flying high and going from strength to strength following its extremely positive Ofsted inspection earlier in the year.
Principal, John Rigby, said “Our Year 11s worked exceptionally hard, attending many enrichment sessions after school, on Saturdays and in the holidays. They were very focused and determined to achieve their best and they have really done themselves proud. Their brilliant performance is simply down to the incredible amount of hard work they dedicated to their studies, the total commitment of OBA’s staff and the continued support of our parents over the years. I am absolutely delighted for them and we look forward to seeing the majority of them again in September when they join us in the Sixth Form.”
Professor Toby Salt, CEO of Ormiston Academies Trust said: “Congratulations to the principal, staff and students on a fabulous set of results. To improve by such a margin is fantastic. The students have worked hard to be rewarded with these outstanding results and staff have put in tireless support to produce these outcomes.”
