On the 17th September 2011 19 pupils from Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy set off on their Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze Expedition. The expedition took place in Burwardsley and pupils walked 15 miles around the sandstone trail whilst carrying all their kit with them. Pupils camped overnight at the Burwardsley Outdoor Centre.
Whilst on expedition pupils had to put into action the skills they have been learning throughout the year such as; map reading & navigation, country code, cooking and putting up tents. Despite the rain and wind pupils had a great time on the expedition and all behaved excellently throughout the trip.
All 19 pupils completed the expedition and successfully passed their Bronze Award expedition, they will be receiving their awards at the Halton schools Duke of Edinburgh ceremony in early 2012. Congratulations to all the pupils who have took part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award this year.
